Hello Bloggers - It's been awhile

I've had some sort of writers block....not sure what that is about.
Where should I start? The opposum or possum (spelled differently depending on the hemisphere you live in) who decided to inhabit our room above the garage (affectionately known as "the fort" by our kids). The devilish possum managed to grab part of a tuna grinder out of the store bought trap and then walk out again. We brought that trap back the next day! We purchased a better trap and kept trying to trap it, but no go. A few days later, the noises stopped, so either the possum hit the road (maybe even road kill) or it has made a home somewhere in there and is giving birth to babies.....I guess we'll find out.

We purchased a couch set for the upstairs open room. We went to Bob's furniture store - the "pit section". All furniture in this section is floor models or discontinued; therefore, it is discounted. Of course the salesmen attack you the minute you walk into the store then proceed to follow you, like they're going to lose The Reeds? You can't if you try......Once we decided on the set and bought it, Katie and I had to run out to the car to set it up for stuffing a 3 section couch into it. When we reentered the store, another salesperson attacked us and I was so pleased to say...."we already bought". That was fun!

Once we got home with the couch, as we had it half in the doorway and half out of the doorway (for if you have a couch half in the doorway, the other half must be hanging out.), it began to downpour. And of course the couch then became lodged in the doorway - 1/2 in the rain, 1/2 out......just another Reed moment. These things do happen to other families - right?

Keera has begun to get excited about reading. We found some sight word cards and she either sounded them out, knew them when she looked at them or got them when we gave hints. Independence - oh yeah....the kids took turns watching Keera from 8-12 this summer and they were getting paid. One day, I called at 10:45 to have Keera answer the phone....then we had a conversation about how Katie had woken up at 10:;30 and Brendan was still sleeping. It was Brendan's turn to watch her that morning....so basically, I paid Keera for watching Keera that day. She has become a lot different in the last month-unbelievable changes, like sleeping at her cousins's house for the first time ever (Yes-4.5 years later Bob and I get a night alone. I think we were both asleep by 11:00).

I hope to get my thoughts together and write more often. Not sure why I have not, but not happy that I haven't. I guess sometimes we just need to keep to ourselves.
