18 years old (almost) but still a kid

Brendan had to take two tests for Gateway college (reading and math placement).  I told him he should get the address on Dad's GPS for his appointment.  He said, "Aren't you going to take me?"  This is the kid who is never home anymore between work, school and friends.  He does his own laundry, buys his own food, makes his own food and yet he wants me to take him to his college test.  I am glad I received some mom reinforcement...he still needs me for something.

The Lost Bra

Katie and I were great traveling mates for the most part.  However, I discovered that in the morning, she has to try on outfits numerous times and do all the teenage stuff to get ready.  Often times it does not coincide with being ready on time for tours.  After our first hotel stay (we went to 5 different hotels in 10 days), we discovered that she had left her bra at the previous hotel.  It was not an easy discovery...it went something like...she was panicking because we had to get to breakfast and we went through all of her stuff many times...I was slightly scolding about why she hadn't dressed earlier, etc. etc.  At any rate, she ended up borrowing my bra for the rest of the trip.  A few days after we got back, we had to run to Kohls to pick up some dress clothes for her (for the next day...planning isn't on the high list of teenage priorities...nor is parent notification of needs) because the softball team was dressing up for game day  (as it t...
