Remember this moment

It was Friday morning and Katie was sitting in her robe, drinking her coffee, eating her toast and bantering back and forth with Connor, who was sitting on the shelf, teasing Katie about what time he was leaving for school and that she better be ready. I talked with them for a few minutes and then I found myself saying out loud to them, "I love this moment and want to remember it because three years from now neither of you will be here doing this."  It was so cool to be able to appreciate that moment in time without feeling like I had to rush to work or do anything at that moment, but enjoy my kids.

Best Birthday Present ever

Bob took all of our Christmas pictures of the family from when Brendan was born and he made "Christmas cards" out of them (some already were in that form).  He bought a huge frame and he put all 19 pictures in there by using those little black corner things.  I have to take a picture and include it in this post...it was the best present ever.

We're back

I am trying to shake things up for myself at work this year...reading a book about Lincoln and how his leadership style relates to school leadership.  I love some of the ideas in the book.  I am trying to apply them to what I am doing.  I am also trying to say, every day, "Jesus, let me live today as if it is my only day and try to enjoy every moment I am living. Take all of my worries and future thoughts and hold them for the day for me."  I tried it yesterday and it really seemed to work. I read a great Guidepost email about handing all of your worries over to Jesus and the author specifically talked about how we worry about our kids, our spouse, etc.  I could so relate to that.  I worry so much about how their life is going to be and it was a relief to think that they are not really mine...they belong to God and he will watch over them as best he can.  So this is a bit disjointed for the me who is going to read it a few years from now, but just ...

So much to tell....

But first - here is what Iopened up the computer to today.  My son Connor is definitely going to own a busines someday...I am sure of it...look at the organization for a 17 year old......He works at a bakery and here is his list of what to do when he is there.  He must look at it right before he goes in each day.  He has saved over 4,000 since starting there last June and he only works weekends during school.  He cracks me up.  Proud mom. Love him.   Boxes           Large           Medium           Small   Portion           Ham           Bacon           Eggs           Cheese        ...
