Not coincidences

I wish I had blogged every day for the last two and a half months because a lot of things have happened that are not coincidences.  I am going to at least start catching the ones I can.

The situation is that for the last three weeks we have known we needed to have a ramp for Connor on March 15th.  Two weeks ago Bob started a conversation with a builder in town, who we know through Bob's coaching in the little league, and the town youth service department to help direct us.  It took two weeks for the process of having the guy out here; having him measure and getting us an estimate.  In the meantime, I kept kind of nudging Bob, which I felt bad about because he was trying, but I was nervous about it getting done.  He decided to contact someone from the facebook page that said they have a ramp they used when his wife passed away.  He is here in town and he would let us have it.  It has been in his garage.  So Bob started to pursue that by measuring and communicating back and forth with him.

In the meantime, I read something in guidepost, which was a similar situation in which someone needed something done and they just handed it over to God.  So on Monday of this week I said to God, please just take this over because Bob is trying, but the ways of the world take time and we just need this in place.  As the week went on Bob decided to look at this ramp and pick it up today, Saturday, if it worked.  It isn't custom built to code, etc., but it should basically do with us putting a little extra on to get in the door.  On the other hand, the builder had given a quote   to custom build a ramp for us to code, building permit, etc. for 2100.  We could certainly do that, but Bob decided to go with the other ramp, being given to us by the man whose wife used it before she passed away.

So here is the amazing part to me....When Bob was getting ready to leave this morning to pick up this ramp, he told me the man's boy used to play baseball with Connor.  I asked the last name and he said Verselli.  Immediately I knew the situation.....his wife was the advisor of the children of Mary (I just got goosebumps) when I was in the group in high school.  She was a local resident, probably 6 years or so older than me.  I was the president of the group and crowned Mary at the May Crowning. I read about her story a few years back...she was very ill....she had a higher up position at either Masonic or Gaylord.  Her husband is a professional performer.  I couldn't believe it......this had practically fell into our hands and Bob pursued it and as it turns out there are connections there from years ago.  When Bob told me the situation of this man, whose wife had passed but she had a cousin build this ramp for her and it wasn't code but she was able to wheel herself up it, etc......I just knew there was a warm story there  and I wanted that more than I wanted the other situation of  getting a quote and having someone build a ramp. And now that I hear the story behind it, I know it was meant to be and God heard my call.  I also know that in some way it doesn't surprise me that Mother Mary was involved in some way.  When Connor was so ill once or twice, I felt like for once, since high school, I had a connection to Mary.  I could never understand how in all of these years, I did not turn to her (me not having a mother), as I did Jesus.  But when Connor was so ill and I was watching him, I thought, how did Mary do it...watching her only son be crucified (no pain meds there) on a cross for three hours. I felt some sort of connection with that.

I guess some would say I am just looking for things, but I think others would say that when your eyes are open you see things that you don't normally see when they are happening...I call them workings of God and Mary through people.  Once again, there is no coincidences involved here.....just faith.
