I know....I've been a bad writer....looking back - new job for Brendan
Brendan was working for Shaw's, a supermarket as his first job. He spent a whole lot more than he saved, but it was a good experience for him, until the store closed on March 31st. Much to my surprise, Brendan went right out and applied to three or so places. It took about two weeks, but his friends at the movie theatre helped to push his application through and before we knew it, he was headed out the door in black pants, a button up white shirt and a required fancy vest, for his new job.
He came home that first night of his new job and announced that "he almost got fired." Immediately I was thinking that he was goofing around with his friends who worked there, but that wasn't the case. He put his sweeping box and broom down in the theatre because he had to go pick up popocorn boxes. His friend told him to move it, but he didn't hear him. A woman tripped over it, fell and hurt her knee. She was really angry and a manager was called in. He didn't even really get yelled at, but considering the fact that the movie theatre could have a law suit against them, I guess he was right that he could have been fired.
He worked 26 hours his first week (school vacation for him). He has come home with some funny stories and interesting things that you would not believe happen in a theatre. He was fascinated by the way the movies are played from a huge room. It's been kind of interesting.
