Really Bob....you need a job
I have decided that it is time for Bob to go back to work.....not that he hasn't been trying for the last six months...he has sent out resumes and checked for jobs every week...even had a few interviews...he currently had a phone interview and there is going to be a follow up in-person interview, so we are keeping our fingers crossed and say some prayers....however, I have come to the conclusion that I know when Bob is ready for a job:
1. He found a haircutting salon that gives free haircuts once a month to unemployed people....nice idea....but he comes home with less hair than he had when he used to go to the hairdressing training school for cheap haircuts....even he didn't like the way this one came out.
2. He and Keera are finding all the discounted/free places to eat in the mornings together before Kindergarten....Denny's offered something last week; today it was IHOP with free pancake day......quite a fun adventure for Keera.
3. About 20 boxes of baseball cards suddenly appear around the house; he is mailing millions of cards out to his buddies and the mail is filled with returning cards for him......way too much time on his hands.....baseball card lover's dream!
4. He is watching Jerry Springer when I get home in the afternoons....no comment on that one.....
5. He brings Connor to school (about a quarter of a mile up the road) because he missed the bus, but Keera wants to stay home and watch TV, so he lets her.....she's 5, not 10 Bob....I fear DCF will be at my house one of these days......can you believe she wasn't even scared while he was gone for like 10 minutes??? I guess it's good she feels safe and secure enough to stay by herself????? (Bob-you knew that one had to make one of my blogs.)
6. He knows all the characters on the morning TV shows that Keera watches.
7. All the projects around the house are done.....oops-not yet....keep working honey!!!!
8. All the laundry, dishes and cleaning is done when I get home....oops again.....not yet....keep working honey!!!
9. He decides he wants to buy a baseball card store in town from a guy who used to look a lot healthier, but is bent over and looking like he has cancer now (I guess he smokes a lot). He wants to have the store in the front of our house, since we live in a split zone (commercial/residential).......I don't think so buddy!!!!!
10. Last but not least....how do I know it is time for Bob to get back into the working world??? He actually seemed more light hearted after he found out he had an interview.....it must be hard to be home and not know what the future brings......
Good luck honey.....we're routing for you!
